Satellites - Now!

The National Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System (NPOESS) is a satellite system used to monitor global environmental conditions, and collect and disseminate data related to: weather, atmosphere, oceans, land and near-space environment.

NOAA starts to worry about the delay of this satellite. With good reason. Today none of the satellites covers the polar regions - the area on the planet that is most sensitive to climate change. Goes without saying that it is about time we launch a couple of satellites....
