Stickney Crater

Stickney Crater, the largest crater on the martian moon Phobos, is named for Chloe Angeline Stickney Hall, mathematician. After reading the short biography about Mrs. Stickney Hall, I think I will conclude that it is she and not her husband that should be honored for the discovery of the martian moons, Phobos and Demios. First SHE taught him everything he knew and then SHE promoted his carreer..Come on, that was a smart womans move so that she could continue her research under the hostile conditions provided to women at the time. I am totally convinced SHE did the thinking and discoveries, he did the slavery. I believe we have to rewrite and CORRECT the history books now. :-)

The Brain

Shame, shame and shame on Dr. Edward Clark of Harvard who in the late nineteenth century concluded that the intellectual development of a woman would proceed only at the sacrifice of her reproductive organs. Unfortunately, this view seem to be fully alive in certain parts of the world. In Japan only ten years ago, the female scientists had to choose between science and having a family. If she married she had to quit her job...Sad, sad and sad.
