Orion to the Moon
Orion to Orbit Moon
Photo: Eric Long/NASM, National Air and Space Museum, Smithsonian Institution
"Orion orbits the moon with disc-shaped solar arrays tracking the sun to generate electricity. Apollo is the inspiration for the Constellation Program's new crew exploration spacecraft, Orion. It will be similar in shape to the Apollo spacecraft, but larger. It will lift six astronauts to the International Space Station, and be able to accommodate four astronauts on Moon missions. The Orion model is on display at the National Air and Space Museum in Space: A Journey to Our Future."
I hope to make it to Washington DC before Januar 2009. That is when this exhibition close...
