Mount St.Helens Lethal Eruption's 30th Anniversary
This Crater...

...is basically what was left after Mount St. Helens unbelievable blast in 1980. A dome grew out of this crater in 2004 (image), but you can see how much of the mountain that was just blown off in 1980. Volcanoes fascinate me! ('transcript' or rather my interpretation of George Clooney's words to Catherine Zeta-Jones in Intolerable Cruelty). :-)
I, too, am fascinated with Mount St. Helens. Although my husband and I were in Africa when MSH erupted in 1980, we are from WA. As soon as we could after returning home, we visited the mountain and were dismayed at the unbelievable change--it was like another planet. I've captured many of these scenes in my recent novel, Tenderfoot, a romantic suspense with a sub-plot of the Mount St. Helens' eruption. www.MaryTrimbleBooks.com
I can not even imagine how disturbing the change of the landscape must have been for those of you living close to Mount St. Helens. I mean, I get upset when the forest is being harvested here where I live. And that is nothing compared to the ripping - off of trees that the Mount St. Helens eruption caused.
Your novel sounds exciting. I'm sure there are plenty of real life personal dramas in the wake of Mount St. Helens eruption, too. :-)
