Climate & Classical

Here is finally a short introduction of the Climate & Classical performance. Most of the footage of nature is recorded on the countryside in Norway where I grew up and still live.

Enjoy! And do let me know if you would be interested in working with us setting up the performance.

Save Birds

Save Birds

It is the international year of biodiversity. Birds are populating the list of animals that are in danger (red list). I love to watch birds and I hope the international efforts this year can help save some birds at least, as well as other species of course. And stop what appears to be some political battling....

Winter Love

Norwegians: Pure Love of Winter

Credit: RennyBA. Click on image to find bigger versions and see the seriousness of our playing the snow. This is why we do so well in the Winter Olympics...:-))

I do not know anyone who love winter more than Norwegian (except perhaps my Chinese friends from the northern part of the Middle Kindom). RennyBA was out and about in our surburbian Oslo, the capital of Norway. As you can see we use any opportunity to play in the snow - and we start early.

This winter is a fairy tale winter - exactly how it should be with lots of snow and temperatures way below 0 Celsius (we don't like the snow to be too wet :-)).

I love satellite images. This birds eye view of one of Earths largest deserts looks like a marbled or even mother-of-pearled coated landscape. The desert covers a larger area than France. Get an even better impression of the vastness here.

Birds

Puffin

Bright beaks and feet signal the breeding season for Atlantic puffins on Hornøya Island, Norway. The birds' colors dull for winter. Puffins in summer and winter coloration look so different they were once thought separate species. (National Geographic)

Dragon Fly

Blue Bug

Blue Corporal, Libellula deplanata.

Dragonfly

If we were discussing bugs back in the days, the prehistoric days that is, I admit we could hardly call this beautiful insect a bug - or a critter for that matter.

Meganeura--a prehistoric dragonfly

Back in the prehistoric (Carboniferous Era) days you could encounter dragonflies with two-foot wingspan!

So, as much as I hate to differ on this matter, I must however most respectfully reject the lessons provided by Xineann. In an astronomical perspective, todays dragonflies are simply small BUGS!
