Algerian Abstract

Algerian Abstract

Credit: Nasa

This is actually a satellite image of Algeria consisting of multiple shots by Landsat 7. The reason why I post yet another of my own posts is that I have reasons to believe I inspired NASA to look at this image from a similar perspective, namely the arts perspective. This is their latest presentation of their own image - now with a caption and title referring to arts. :-) I'm just saying....;-)

Mural Cat

Mural Cat

It's been a while since a cat made it to this place on the internets. And this royal version will do just fine. He is surrounded by the green, just as I am right now in Haakenrud. It is explosively green this summer. :-)

Blue Swans

Superb Swans

These swans are elegant and come in blue, my favorite color! We have swans here at the lake where I live. They are elegant to look at in real life as well, though pretty darn aggressive! Yes, I was actually attacked by one while swimming. I won that battle, but for small kids it can be very scary.

Still, I love swans. And what better than to have them in blue! These here go very well with my porcelain, too. :-)

Space A La China

Space A La China

This is an excellent illustration that space can be experienced in very different ways depending on your cultural standpoint. I can't express how much I love the perspective of space exploration inherit in this happy illustration. So fundamentally different than our streamlined Western approach. :-)

Happiness and friendship in space!

I fell for this sculpture in blue. Not surprisingly. Generally, I find contemporary Chinese art very interesting.

I remember the first nanoimage made by IBM in the 90ties. We were all in awe. This is über cool, too. :-)

Say It With Science

...And An Artsycraftsy Cake?

Munch Scream cake

Clearly, we can count on Klassy baking these cakes - as part of her definition of art project. Before we all die; eventually...:-)

Currently, these cakes are served at the Munch Museum, Oslo, Norway. If you'd like to see the inspiration for this cake, the painting Scream, you better hurry because the exhibition is only open until 26. September 2008. The cake is good!

The End IS Near - Astronomically Speaking! ;-)
